BRIEFING: THE FOUR CHECKS, FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS BOUGHT FROM GURUS BEFORE AND REGRETTED IT

Judge a teacher by what he will be graded on

You have bought from someone impressive before and ended up with a folder. So the usual biography is not going to settle this. Here are four checks that do, and the one Mark Ling passes in a way almost nobody else in this market will attempt.

The record, without the trumpet

Affiliate marketing since the late 1990s. Affilorama built and run as a teaching business. Public from-scratch demonstrations, with the numbers reported as they arrived, including the flat ones.

He also states that figures from his own business are illustrations of the model rather than forecasts, and that results vary. I carry that because he said it, and a page that quotes the big number while dropping the caveat is doing something he did not.

My own interest, declared: affiliate links, commission on a sale, identical price to you.

Why a record does not answer the question

Because his record describes his business, and you are buying instructions for yours.

He has a list, a team, twenty-five years of relationships and products he owns. None of that transfers. What might transfer is judgement, and judgement is invisible on a sales page, which is why everyone argues about revenue instead.

And the argument people actually have, does he still do this himself, gets answered badly. His team runs the example accounts day to day. He has said he builds AI tooling that sits behind other people's programs. Both are true, both are normal at his scale, and neither is the scandal it gets treated as.

So what would tell you something real?

The four checks

Judge a teacher by what he will be graded on. Everything else is marketing, including the good parts.

Check one: does he take public risk? The 60 Day Demo has him starting again from zero, on a new phone, with no list, in front of a paying class, for sixty days. Teachers who avoid being graded do not build that into a product, because it can fail where everyone can see.

Check two: is the method mature or fashionable? Comment-to-DM is mature, documented and still working, which is better than novel. Fashionable methods stop working about the time the course finishes selling.

Maturity has a second advantage that rarely gets said. A mature mechanic has known failure modes, so a teacher who has watched it at scale can tell you which mistakes cost a week and which cost a month. That is worth more than a novel mechanic nobody has broken yet, and it only exists where somebody has been teaching the same thing long enough to collect the failures.

Check three: do the economics survive your own niche? Do this before you buy. Find an offer you would actually promote, look up what it pays, and divide. At $50 a sale the program pays for itself at fifty sales; at $500, at five. If your niche cannot reach either, the problem is the offer, and the blueprint would have told you the same thing in week one.

Check four: what happens if you stop? You keep the accounts, the page on your own domain, the list in your own autoresponder and the templates. Nothing here is rented from the vendor. That is not true of every program at this price, and it is worth checking on all of them.

Review The Case Study Recording

Can you use his judgement, and do you need to?

"I could sequence this myself." You could, and it costs a quarter of evenings to find out where you were wrong. That is a season of evenings priced at zero and billed anyway.

"Four figures for an order of operations?" $2,497 once, saving $485 against six payments of $497 totalling $2,982, which is about $48 a week across a year. Compare it with one badly ordered quarter, or with paying a freelancer several hundred for a single page while you still guess at the rest.

"What if I fall behind?" Material unlocks weekly and does not expire. Twenty minutes an evening is the requirement, and an evening you can name beats a plan you cannot.

"What if he is wrong about someone like me?" Thirty days, on an honest attempt. Open it, build the page, publish the first posts, and decide with evidence instead of with a review.

Imagine eight weeks from now knowing what you do next every evening without asking anyone. Now imagine eight weeks of deciding what to do next, and a folder with three drafts in it.

The part of his record that does reach your evenings

Two things, and they are worth separating from the noise.

The first is durability. He has taught the same spine through four platform eras: pick an offer, send it qualified attention, keep the list. Everything above that line changed and the line did not. A method that survives a platform change is structural rather than fashionable, and that is checkable rather than a matter of taste.

The second is sequencing evidence. Twenty-five years of teaching beginners produces something a solo operator cannot buy anywhere: knowledge of which step people try third that should have been first. Offer before page. Posts before automation. List after the first commission. Each of those is a month somebody else already lost, and the order is the part of his record that actually reaches your Tuesday evening.

What I would do

Thank you for reading four checks instead of a biography. You now have a test you can run on any teacher in this market: not what they earned, but what they are willing to be graded on.

You came to work out whether the man behind it is worth the price, which is exactly the right question for a program that is mostly judgement.

What this page cannot give you is the judgement itself, week by week: the eight-week order, the 27 structures, the generator briefed to them, Charlie, the cohort, and the sixty days in public.

If you want it, I personally recommend this order. Use a button on this page last, immediately before paying, since attribution follows the final click. Then forward the receipt to [email protected] with the subject bonus request. I reply personally, usually the same day, and the first item delivered is the bridge page, built and live on your own domain.

The cart is scheduled to close 24 September 2026, 11:59pm Pacific, with the founding bonuses attached to that window by the vendor's own terms. That date is published rather than invented, which is the only kind of deadline worth planning around. The factual page on his record.
