The structure
A vendor builds a product and recruits affiliates — joint venture partners — to promote it to their own audiences during a fixed window. Everyone mails at once. The cart opens and closes on published dates.
| Party | Role | Economics |
|---|---|---|
| Vendor | Builds product, runs sessions, handles delivery | Keeps ~50% |
| Affiliate | Mails their own list and audience | Typically 40–50% |
| Buyer | Sees the same product from several sources at once | Pays list price |
Why it is done this way
Concentrating all promotion into two weeks produces a spike large enough to fund leaderboard prizes, live sessions and heavy production. A trickle of sales year-round funds none of that.
What it means for you
- The price is the same from every affiliate. Commission comes out of the vendor's margin, not added to your bill.
- Bonuses are the only real differentiator between one affiliate's link and another's.
- The volume of email is structural, not a sign of desperation. Everyone is mailing the same fortnight because that is how the model works.
